Chicken Adobo

Chicken Adobo (Adobong Manok- Filpino) refers to a common and very popular cooking process indigenous here in the Philippines. The most famous of all here in the Philippines is the chicken adobo.
Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs dressed chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 3 pcs dried bay leaves
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 pcs  potato cut into pieces
Cooking procedures:
  1. In a large container, you combine the soy sauce and garlic then marinade the chicken and leave overnight
  2. Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply medium heat
  3. Put-in the marinated chicken when the oil is hot enough
  4. Add the 2 cups of water and potato and bring to a boil
  5. Add the dried bay leaves and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender
  6. Add vinegar, salt, and pepper and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes
  7. Serve hot with plain rice and enjoy!
