Chicken Adobo (Adobong Manok- Filpino) refers to a common and very popular cooking process indigenous here in the Philippines. The most famous of all here in the Philippines is the chicken adobo.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs dressed chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 3 pcs dried bay leaves
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- salt and pepper
- 4 pcs potato cut into pieces
Cooking procedures:
- In a large container, you combine the soy sauce and garlic then marinade the chicken and leave overnight
- Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply medium heat
- Put-in the marinated chicken when the oil is hot enough
- Add the 2 cups of water and potato and bring to a boil
- Add the dried bay leaves and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender
- Add vinegar, salt, and pepper and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes
- Serve hot with plain rice and enjoy!
